THE
REGION
Welcome to the beautiful Southern Adirondacks. We are at the beginning of one
of the most impressive state parks in the nation. With 6 million acres, endless
opportunities abound to enjoy the outdoors from the waters to wilderness
trails. The Great Sacandaga Lake dominates the landscape with over 129 miles of
shoreline. Hiking, biking, white water rafting, paddling, fishing, and boating
extend through Spring, Summer, and Fall while snowmobiling, skiing,
snowshoeing, and ice fishing fill the Winter.
The Village of Northville is a historic town dotted with victorian houses, a
picturesque Main Street, small shops, and laid-back charm. Dating to the late
1700’s, the town now sits practically surrounded by water between the Great
Sacandaga Lake and the Northville Lake; both created with the construction of
the Conklingville Dam in 1929. In addition to having everything one needs for a
getaway, this area is home to skilled craftsmen, fine artists, and excellent
musicians. Take time to explore the shops, galleries, and restaurants, catch
some live music, and watch the antique cars roll by.
