The c. 1850 Main House...
Now & Then

The Orendaga has been welcoming guests since the first cabin was built in the early 1900’s. As artists, fine carpenters, and world travelers, your hosts have diligently recreated a sophisticated Inn and country gardens while remaining true to the casual comforts and style of this quaint Adirondack village. We have had the pleasure of restoring the buildings and grounds in an ever evolving effort to provide a truly unique experience for our guests. Here you will find accommodations like no where else in the Adirondacks: in town… yet private; boutique...but relaxed and comfortable. Each room is handcrafted in our own distinct modern style with a nod towards that special Adirondack charm. The rooms and gardens are topped with art collected in our travels and made in our studio. You will see a unique range of work by both emerging and well established ceramists, sculptors, glass blowers, painters, printmakers, and photographers.
Currently undergoing final renovations, Our c.1850 Main House & Carriage House will be the new home of Bellwether Ceramics Studio & Gallery in Summer of 2010. Both graduates of the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University, your hosts are working potters and sculptural ceramists. Our on-premises studio offers a unique opportunity for guests to view the pottery process, schedule a private lesson, use our work during your stay, and purchase pieces from our gallery. Come speak with Mikey, Michele, or our current Resident Artist in the Studio.
The Orendaga is open year round for guests to enjoy both the beauty of an Adirondack Summer as well as the crisp, clear days of a Winter Wonderland. Here, your space is your own to get away from it all, or to simply get back in touch. Our lakeside location and ever expanding gardens invite you to relax... find a restful spot on the sun-drenched lawn, or a bench amid the trees. Pick fresh herbs to complement your meal, and flowers for your table. Paddle the lake in our kayaks, and explore the Village on our vintage bicycles. Spend an afternoon at a Concert in the Park, and stop by the Farmer’s Market for fresh local produce. Cook out under the pine trees, play a game of horseshoes, and watch the sun set from your porch rocking chair.
Sound Perfect? Welcome to The Orendaga...
